This form is used to get a judge to approve and finalize a settlement agreement between parties in a civil lawsuit, allowing the case to be closed without going to trial. Anyone involved in a civil court case—such as a plaintiff suing for money damages, a defendant being sued, or their attorneys—would use this form when both sides have agreed to settle and want the court to make the settlement legally binding.
