# Advisement of Rights and Waiver of Preliminary Examination This form is used when a person charged with a crime decides to skip the preliminary hearing (the early court appearance where evidence is presented) and move directly to trial or plea. A defendant who wants to waive their right to this preliminary hearing would need to use this form to officially inform the court of their decision.
