# Property Bond Handout - CR-001 The CR-001 form explains how a defendant can use property they own (like a house or land) as security instead of paying cash to be released from jail while waiting for their court case. A defendant who cannot afford to pay bail but owns valuable property would use this form to request that the court accept their property as a guarantee they will return for trial.
