Form L-1270 is used when two parties in a court case agree to try resolving their dispute through mediation or another out-of-court method instead of continuing with a trial. Either party to a lawsuit, or their attorney, would file this form to officially notify the court that both sides want to pause the case and attempt to settle their disagreement with a neutral third party's help.
