This form is used to request that a judge reduce or dismiss certain drug and theft charges under California's Proposition 47 law, which treats these crimes as misdemeanors instead of felonies. Someone with a prior felony conviction for drug possession, shoplifting, or similar crimes would use this form to ask the court to lower their sentence or have their record changed.
