This form allows a defendant in a criminal case to skip appearing in court in person for certain hearings or proceedings, instead letting their lawyer represent them. A defendant who wants to avoid attending court would use this form, typically someone who has an attorney and whose case doesn't require their physical presence for that particular court date.
