This form is used by people involved in a civil lawsuit to ask the court to schedule a settlement conference (a meeting to try to resolve the case) or to set a date for trial if the case cannot be settled. Either party in the lawsuit can file this form to move their case forward when they believe they're ready to negotiate a resolution or go to court.
